The London Festival of Architecture Comes Back to Barnet

Ceramics workshop at the LFA (Brent Cross Town)

The London Festival of Architecture is a month-long celebration of architecture and city-making that has taken place every June across London since 2004. The Festival’s mission is to open up discussions around architecture, test new ideas and uncover and promote new talent.

Following the success of last year’s focus on Barnet as a destination, the festival is back in the borough with a host of fun and fascinating events, including an event in Brent Cross Town. Join us on 5th June for A Place Where All Can Flourish: Bringing Wellbeing into Placemaking which includes a tour of the newly opened Brent Cross West station, led by architects Studio Egret West and Barnet Council, followed by a panel talk at the Visitor Pavilion.

Elsewhere in the borough, there are talks on subjects as diverse as the Barnet legends inspiring new public artworksFinchley’s burial grounds, and lost architecture in Colindale, and lots of walking tours, including one reimagining the future of Totteridge and Whetstone and another exploring places of faith and community in Edgeware.

For those who prefer a hands-on experience, there’s a huge range of workshops, from creative dance to lego, and origami architecture to ceramics.
