The Roundhouse

Just 11 minutes away on the Northern line, The Roundhouse is a world-class cultural venue in a Grade II* listed building at Chalk Farm. Originally built between 1846 and 1847 as the home of a railway turntable, it was only used for that purpose for about a decade. The building fell into disuse just before World War II. It was made a listed building in 1954 and reopened its doors in 1964 as a performing arts venue, famously hosting one of only two UK appearances by The Doors with Jim Morrison in 1968.

Kenwood House Lakeside Concert

A 13-minute drive from Brent Cross Town, discover the atmospheric magic of lakeside concerts at Kenwood House. The London County Council (LCC) first started hosting concerts by the lake at Kenwood in 1951. By the early 1960s their summer shows would be attended by more than 8000 people at a time. Today the outdoor venue is as enchanting as ever.

London Zoo

Jump on the Northern line for 10 minutes and then take a quick stroll from Chalk Farm Underground Station to get to London Zoo. As the world’s oldest scientific zoo, it houses a collection of 673 species of animals. It’s one of the largest collections in the United Kingdom and first opened on 27th April 1828.

Open Air Theatre Regent’s Park

Take a quick 22 minute car ride to Regent’s Park to enjoy their open air theatre programme. Set in the heart of this beautiful park, and established in 1932, the wonderfully unpredictable nature of this outdoor theatre venue makes it a must-visit. Timothy Sheader was appointed Artistic Director of open air theatre at Regent’s Park in 2007, and productions since have won seven Olivier Awards, three Evening Standard Awards and six WhatsOnStage Awards.
