Living in Brent Cross Town: Stay Active and Explore

 (Brent Cross Town)

London is one of the greenest cities in the world. At Brent Cross Town, recently opened Claremont Park is a great space for play and exploration, while Clitterhouse Playing Fields will bring another 44 acres of park space to the area. Additionally, with so many outdoor destinations in the rest of London within easy reach of Brent Cross Town, staying active is a great way to experience the best of the capital. Our new park town already boasts exceptional connections to the rest of London via the Northern line, and a new Thameslink station will open later this year — getting you to King’s Cross St. Pancras in just 12 minutes.

Whether you’re a keen runner, avid walker, outdoor swimmer or want to get on the water in style, here are five easily accessible destinations you won’t want to miss.

Welsh Harp Reservoir

Only a nine-minute rail and walking journey from Brent Cross Town, the Welsh Harp (also known as Brent Reservoir) is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, with the open water and associated habitats supporting an unusually large selection of wetland birds and plants for an inner city reservoir. It’s a great place to walk, run, bird-watch and even get into water sports with the local sailing club.

Hampstead Heath

Jump on the Northern line to Belsize Park and walk just a few minutes to get to Hampstead Heath. Enjoy vast expanses of green space and enchanting woodland. This is the park that inspired C.S. Lewis to write The Chronicles of Narnia, and that Constable spent his final years painting. It covers more than 800 acres and offers spectacular views of London.

Hampstead Lido

Love an outdoor swim? Hop on your bike and pedal for just 23 minutes to enjoy Hampstead Lido. First opened in 1938, Hampstead Lido (also known as Parliament Hill Lido) is an unheated 60-metre, open air swimming pool, open to members of the public 365 days a year.

Primrose Hill

Ride just ten minutes on the Northern line to Chalk Farm, followed by a five-minute stroll, and you can enjoy the splendid beauty of Primrose Hill. Located north of The Regent’s Park, the top of the hill is one of the six protected viewpoints in London, offering more unmissable views.

Golders Hill Park

Cycle just 11 minutes east from Brent Cross Town and you’ll find yourself at Golders Hill Park. This park is a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation and adjoins the West Heath part of Hampstead Heath. It is predominantly grassy parkland, but it also has a formal, beautifully tended, flower garden and a great duck pond.
