And the People’s Project Award Winners are…

Brent Cross Town Community Fund Winners Keep Rolling Project (Brent Cross Town)

We asked you to vote for which of this year’s Brent Cross Town Community Fund winners should receive extra funding from our £10,000 fifth anniversary pot, and over a thousand of you did – thank you!

The results are now in, and we’re thrilled to announce that the following four projects have won extra funding to the tune of £2,500 each.

@keeprolling_co is a non-profit community project helping to introduce more girls to skateboarding and bringing female skateboarders to the forefront. Their sessions mix skateboarding with creative arts and photography, improving participants mental and physical health, and boosting their self-esteem, confidence and coping mechanisms. They’ve taught workshops in some of the worlds most troubled places and ensure that their London workshops are accessible to the girls most in need of support, such as LGBTIA+ individuals and those from refugee communities and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our Yard at Clitterhouse Farm @clitterhousefarm  is a thriving, community-led enterprise based in the old farm buildings at the top of Clitterhouse Fields. Their café and garden are inclusive and welcoming spaces for the whole community, and they offer community gardening workshops, nature clubs and forest school sessions.

Mapledown School is the London Borough of Barnet’s Secondary school for students with severe and complex learning disabilities.  Based right next to Brent Cross Town, the school supports children with diverse needs and works to ensure that all it’s pupils get the best possible outcomes from their education.

Screenshare @screenshareuk supports, informs and advocates for digital inclusion for refugees and asylum seekers in Barnet and across the UK. Their mission is to end refugee digital exclusion by collecting and refurbishing laptops and gifting them to refugees and asylum seekers, thus enabling them to work or study and integrate into society.

We’re thrilled that so many of you took part in the people’s project vote and are incredibly proud to be able to further support these brilliant groups with their important work. We can’t wait to work with them more closely and look forward to hearing about their endeavours.
