This is a park with something for everyone.

Covid-19 is a moving picture: remember to check government guidelines and enjoy Exploratory Park and other green spaces safely.

Welcome to Exploratory Park, Brent Cross’s newest park – and a beautiful space where everyone is welcome. So come along and enjoy it.

Exploratory Park is aptly named: this is a place for discovery. Brent Cross Town’s very first green space is all about play. There’s a climbing pyramid for kids, a seesaw, swings, monkey bars, and a long, snaking yellow slide running down the middle.

For adults and children alike, there’s outdoor table tennis, workout equipment, and even a basketball court. You’ll find some unexpected quirky elements here too: triangles suspended from a wooden frame, alongside the wands for playing them. This is a park with something for everyone.

Restorative greenery means it’s somewhere to simply savour time outside. The park is divided into three main spaces: a playground, a paved area for events and games, and a grassy area to relax with a picnic while the kids run around, surrounded by reeds, grasses and scented plants. The green lawns catch the sun, while the benches are shaded by trees. From the very beginning, safety has been top of mind: there are clear lines of sight across the park, and it closes overnight.

Replacing the Rosa Freedman Centre and Clarefield Park, this welcoming new landscape will remain in place for several years, until a new and improved Claremont Park opens permanently. Many of the Exploratory’s trees will become part of that new park too. It was designed by East Architects in collaboration with local residents, and special attention was given to what kids wanted in a new park.

We wanted to ensure that residents and visitors had access to well-designed green spaces throughout.

“This is an exciting first step in the Brent Cross Town development,” says Nick Searl, Related Argent Partner and joint lead for Brent Cross Town. “We wanted to ensure that throughout the redevelopment process, residents and visitors had access to well-designed and interactive green spaces.” The Exploratory is the first of many new parks which will open for the community in the years ahead as part of this 180-acre development set around 50 acres of green parks and playing fields.

You can find Exploratory Park on Claremont Way, NW2 1AJ, and it’s open every day from early morning til dusk.
