The Eco-Friendly Timber Office Building Coming to Brent Cross Town

We’re thrilled to announce that, alongside our partners Barnet Council, we have been granted planning permission for a new office building overlooking Claremont Park.

We plan to build the structure entirely from engineered timber using off-site manufacturing and construction methods. This means that 2 Copper Square, as the building will be called, will set industry-leading targets for embodied carbon reduction, efficiency and user wellbeing, supporting our commitment to be a net zero carbon town by 2030.

Designed by architecture firm Bennetts Associates, the mass-timber building will sit on Copper Square, opposite Brent Cross West Station, making it easily accessible from Central London, the northern suburbs and from the local area. It will also support the growing number of people moving to Brent Cross Town. Active travel will be made easier for workers too: 128 bike parking spaces, lockers and changing facilities will be available.

Inside, 2 Copper Square will offer 138,000 square feet of workspace over eight levels, with a communal roof terrace and views over Claremont Park and out towards Hampstead Heath.

The building’s three terraces will be densely planted, encouraging biodiversity and enhancing the experience of working inside.

The double-height entrance will lead to a pedestrianised colonnade with cafes, bars and restaurants.

With Claremont Park in front of the building, and two major new public squares adjoining it, 2 Copper Square is set to be an inspiring office hub that contributes to a great quality of life for all who use the building.
