Brent Cross Town Connect is now open to all local residents taking their next step on the career ladder. The recruitment hub offers free, face-to-face help finding work, training and volunteering opportunities, alongside advice on changing careers.

With the nearest alternative recruitment centre half an hour away by public transport, Brent Cross Town Connect is bringing job support closer to home for the community.

Connecting employers with local people

At its heart, the initiative connects employers with candidates, making accessible the wealth of work and training opportunities generated by the Brent Cross Town development project. This includes everything from retail and hospitality to construction work and apprenticeships.

The recruitment hub arrives in the wake of the Brent Cross Town Community Fund 2026, which offers a share of £50,000 in grants to projects focusing on employment, skills improvement, training and education.

A permanent home for recruitment support

Davin Chaggar, Social Value Manager at Related Argent (the developers behind the Brent Cross Town regeneration) celebrated the success of the employment programme.

“We’re already seeing local people successfully access jobs, apprenticeships and training across the development and beyond, and Brent Cross Town Connect gives us a permanent home for that support – helping even more people benefit from the opportunities being created at the development in a visible and accessible way.”

One such person is Ismaeel Assoul (pictured right). While studying for his BTEC Electrical Installation Level 3 at a local college, Ismaeel took part in an online information session about apprenticeships in Brent Cross Town. After applying and being invited to a week of work experience on Plot 15, Ismaeel did so well that he was offered the apprenticeship.

Two other people who have found opportunities through the initiative are Abdullah Ally from Barnet, who secured a Level 3 apprenticeship as a trainee electrician; and Mark Edwards from Brent, who discovered a completely new career in landscaping, after being made redundant from a previous role.

“I was supported throughout the application process and constantly kept updated,” explains Abdullah (pictured left). “It was always made clear that if there was anything I needed, the team was there to help.

“This apprenticeship means I can work towards completing my NVQ portfolio and becoming a fully qualified electrician. Every day I am learning something new and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity and the people around me.”

Meanwhile, Mark (pictured right) describes how the team supported him entering into a new industry. “The Connect team took the time to understand my situation and gave me the chance to move into a completely new field. That made a huge difference compared with other agencies I have worked with.

“I cannot recommend the service enough. If you show a willingness to learn, they will guide you along the way, even if the role is new to you or outside your previous field of work.”

Brent Cross Town Connect is open to all residents across Barnet, Brent and Camden, and the team is available from Monday to Friday, 10am – 3pm. Call in at their dedicated hub in the centre of Brent Cross Town, or make an appointment through their website.
