Insider Guide: Seth Curtis

Brent Cross Insider Seth Curtis is a skateboarder originally from Sheffield. Here he shares his favourite spots around Primrose Hill, where he lives with his family.
I feel very lucky to live in this part of North London. Working in Soho is always busy, so coming home to our neighbourhood always feels like a blessing.
My name is Seth Curtis. I’m a skateboarder and work at Supreme’s London store. I live with my wife and our 12 year old son Riley in Primrose Hill, where we’ve been based for almost 20 years. It’s very quiet for the most part, and very green, which reminds me of where I grew up in Sheffield. Near our house we’ve got Chalcot Square — where we hang out a lot in the summer — Primrose Hill, with its views of the London skyline, and Regents Park. The local high street is still mostly run by family businesses that we’ve got to know over the years, and who were amazing throughout the pandemic. The area also boasts a genuine community and family feel and we have some great neighbours. I’ve travelled a fair bit over the years through skateboarding, but this neighbourhood never grows old.
Here are my must-visit spots:
1. Lemonia
Location: 89 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8UY
Find out more: lemonia.co.uk
This place is a local institution and a great Greek restaurant just two minutes from our house. It’s a proper family business, with friendly staff who have worked there for years and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Insider Tip: always get a mixed side salad
2. Greenberry Cafe
Location: 101 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8UR
Follow: @greenberrycafe Find out more: greenberrycafe.co.uk
Our go-to breakfast place! Great staff and just at the end of our street.

Insider Tip: It gets really busy, so get there before nine on weekends if you haven’t got a booking
3. Primrose Corner
Location: 89 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8UY
Follow: @primrose_corner
It’s an old school corner shop and post office that literally has everything. Zam the owner runs a neighbourhood instagram account and does a lot to help the older members of the community.

Insider Tip: check @primrose_corner Instagram account
4. Cantelowes Skatepark
Location: 212 Camden Rd, London NW1 9BY
Find out more: skateparks.co.uk/london/cantelowes-skatepark
Not many skateparks in North London are worth writing home about, but Cantelowes in neighbouring NW1 is a constant. It’s grown a bit rough over the past few years, but the new brick quarter extension section is a good addition.

Insider Tip: Drop in on weekdays only, weekends are too busy
5. PerformanceRx
Location: 79-81 Fairfax Rd, London NW6 4DY
Follow: @joelperform_rx Find out more: performancerx.co.uk
Joel and Neil at PerformanceRx have helped me so much over the past few years, with injuries I’ve been dealing with from skateboarding. They have so much experience regarding back and knee injuries. Their advice and training is amazing.

Insider Tip: call them for a consultation to get a personalised fitness road map, you won't regret it
6. Mercury Stores
Location: 43 Chalcot Rd, London NW1 8LS
Our local hardware store! A great family-run business that has maybe every screw/lightbulb combo going.

Insider Tip: don’t go at 1pm, they close for lunch
