I’m very fond of the network of parks that allow me to get around North London relatively traffic free.
After a lifetime of working in hospitality in Manchester and Melbourne — from working in small independent restaurants to joining the management team at the Fat Duck Group — I returned to the UK in search of a venue of my own. Happily, we found an amazing site in Highbury where we were immediately welcomed as part of the community and things have gone from strength to strength!
Cycling has always been a big passion of mine and I’m very fond of the network of parks that allow me to get around North London relatively traffic free. I’m also happy to have incorporated that into our business, by way of offering bicycle deliveries around North London and beyond.
Here are my must-visit spots:
1. Dilara Uyghur Restaurant

A classic French deli with amazing attention to detail! You won’t find a bad product here.
Insider Tip: Ask for Hugo, he’s always happy to open a bottle of wine to taste

Amazing seasonal produce and friendly service.
Insider Tip: It’s depressingly hard to find good organic and seasonal produce from independent stores, but you can trust that what’s on the shelves here is of the best quality
4. Cofẽẽ La Casbah

This is a super vibrant local cafe, always buzzing with life, inside and out.

5. First Choice Hardware

They’ve saved us so many times when things have broken in the restaurant! A shining example of a great neighbourhood business
Insider Tip: If you need help with DIY, the staff here are genuinely knowledgeable and will help you get it sorted
