This half-term, we’re thrilled to be working with Women in Sport to offer fun, free sporting and wellbeing activities for women and teenage girls as part of their #TimeTogether campaign. All the sessions are free-to-attend, local, and taught by women. There will be free refreshments served after every session, too!
As part of our half-term programme, we will also be offering free, family film screenings at the Visitor Pavilion, Pickleball in Exploratory Park, art workshops with local artist Anna van der Poorten, and sport and social games with F.U.S.E. Youth Project, both activities in Claremont Park. These events are suitable for all age groups, please refer to the individual activity for more detail.
So what is #TimeTogether?
60% of teenage girls aren’t getting enough physical activity to lead a healthy life. However, encouragingly, 48% of teenage girls surveyed said that their mothers encouraged them to exercise.
Statistics like these prompted Women in Sport to create #TimeTogether, an annual initiative that encourages mums and daughters to take time to exercise together, not only improving health but building bonds and enjoying quality time together too. Women without teenage daughters are welcome to attend too, as are teenage girls. Brent Cross Town is proud to be involved in the campaign for the fourth year running.
These events are suitable for all ability levels, no equipment is required, and free refreshments will be served after each event. Our wellbeing sessions have female instructors.
All half-term events are free-to-attend, but some require booking. Click on the links below to find out more about each activity and to book your space.
