Chloe Madeley’s Favourite Parks in North London

 (Brent Cross Town)

North London local Chloe Madeley started her career working in TV, both on and off-camera, but when she started weightlifting at a gym in East Finchley, she found her passion and changed career paths to become a personal trainer and nutritionist. She presents a podcast called The Bodcast and runs an online health and fitness coaching programme, The EC Method.

Getting outdoors in Jan when cold and wet can be a hard task but if you can get out and move it will be great for your general health and also mental health.

With the EC Method, my coaching platform we teach our clients that movement is key alongside diet and exercise for both physical and mental benefits.  Now I have my daughter Bohdi who is 5 months old, I love nothing more than getting wrapped up, putting on my walking boots and exploring the great parks and green areas in North London.

Hampstead Heath
Hampstead Heath is a real gem – you can have a proper country walk here without even leaving North London! Spending time around nature and trees improves your mental health, especially when combined with exercise, so a long walk on the heath is a win-win.  It’s a huge place so there’s loads of scope too – you can vary your walks. I highly recommend it!

Hampstead Heath Extension
I love this lesser know part of Hampstead Heath, up near Golder’s Green. Before i had Bohdi i’d regularly take our dog Bertie for walks here. It’s a mix of wide open spaces and more wooded areas. It’s a great place for a good long walk.

Claremont Park
Bodhi is a little bit too young for the playground, but there is so much there for older kids, it’s amazing.  I like to do a good loop of this and exploratory park with the buggy then stop at Spruce and Larch for a coffee. I’m sure I’ll be spending a lot more time here when she’s a bit older!

Gladstone Park
Gladstone Park is wonderful – it’s huge, so a walk around it is a proper workout. There’s a lovely flower garden too, which smells incredible in spring and summer.

Parliament Hill
London is a massive city and when you’re in it it’s hard to get any perspective. Parliament Hill has the best views in London, and the walk up to the top is lovely – and good exercise! There’s a great little cafe in the lido too, where you can get lunch to eat on the hill.
