Brent Cross Town Launches a Programme with Women into Construction

Women into Construction on a building site (Brent Cross Town)

At Brent Cross Town, we’re committed to building a strong, healthy community, and increasing opportunities for our residents. So we’re thrilled to be working with Women into Construction on an employment programme that offers women in the local area access to sustainable employment in construction.

Women into Construction’s (WiC) mission is to change the face of construction through increased gender diversity. Over the past 15 years, they’ve worked with over 150 construction companies in London, Birmingham, East Anglia and Newcastle, and over 4500 women, delivering 1000 work placements, training 2700 women and supporting over 1100 into employment.

Throughout the next year, WiC will be working with us to identify and offer work placements and jobs across our build programme. They will support interested women from across Brent, Barnet and Camden, offering information, advice and guidance about the exciting range of careers in construction.

They will also deliver two bespoke five-week pre-employment programmes across the year, providing in-depth support, with one on one advice and guidance, construction skills training, advice on CV applications and interviews, help with transport and childcare costs, and ongoing in-work for up to six months.

No construction experience is necessary, and the programme is open to all women in Brent, Barnet and Camden who are not currently working.

Apply for the programme here.
