The Brent Cross Town Community Fund 2024 is now open, and you have until 24 October 2024 to apply!

We have £50,000 to pledge this year and are offering grants valued between £3,000 and £10,000 to projects across the London Borough of Barnet. This year, the fund is looking to support projects that focus on skills, education, employment and training, reflecting the important role these play in the development of Brent Cross Town as it becomes a place where everyone can flourish.

Yaran Women's Club

Yaran Women’s Club was founded to support women of all ages who have suffered domestic violence, are refugees, or are struggling with mental health and isolation.  The group offers classes such as yoga, meditation, therapeutic art, pottery and mindfulness, which improve members’ mental health while providing companionship and community. They also run English lessons that help members develop the language and confidence to participate in society.

The club won a grant from The Brent Cross Town Community Fund in 2023 and used the funding to facilitate more activities and support more women.

Screen Share UK

Screen Share UK collects laptops, tablets and phones from businesses, repairs and upgrades them where necessary, and then distributes them to refugees in the local community. This helps them access employment, education and services. The organisation also advocates for digital inclusion for refugees and asylum seekers across the UK.

Screen Share UK used the funding they received from The Brent Cross Town Community Fund in 2023 to buy hardware that allowed them to repair and refurbish devices that had been disposed of, affording digital access to more people.
