Apply for an Architecture Traineeship with Build the Way

Students on the Build the Way architecture scheme (Brent Cross Town)

At Brent Cross Town, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re once again partnering with Build The Way (BTW), the innovative scheme that offers young people from underrepresented backgrounds architectural training and internships — allowing them to enter the industry in a more tenable and financially feasible way.

BTW is offering placements to young people aged between 18-25 who have a passion for design and cities, regardless of whether they’ve studied architecture or not. Brent Cross Town is pleased to be supporting one of these potentially life-changing traineeships, which will be offered to a young person living in Barnet.

Head to the Build The Way website to find out more and complete your application before the deadline of 20 August.

With no experience-based barriers to application, BTW opens the field to anyone with a passion for architecture, which will diversify the profession and ensure that cities are designed by the people who inhabit them.

Running from October to June, the yearly, 9-month-long BTW programme provides valuable workplace experience with exposure to real projects, and the other professionals and consultants involved in making our cities.

The participants will be paid the London living wage while they learn, working 32 hours per week with an additional 1 day a week for their professional practice and to undertake an EPQ at the London School of Architecture.

Over 9 months, trainees will learn the fundamentals of architecture, learn how to communicate thoughts and illustrate ideas. Trainees also develop key transferable professional qualities such as time management, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

If you’re aged between 18-25 and interested in designing the cities of the future, apply here before 20 August.
