All signs lead to the Pavilion

 (Brent Cross Town)

If you have recently taken the ten minute walk from Brent Cross tube station to Brent Cross Town you may have noticed some brightly coloured and playful signage leading the way. This is the work of design studio, Fieldwork Facility

The aim of the signage project was to direct people from Brent Cross tube station to the Visitor Pavilion. The signage wraps around lamp posts and pops out from the ground in unusual, unexpected forms. They loop, squiggle, twist and turn. All clearly visible due to their bright yellow colour.

The signage’s aim is to make you smile; altering people’s experience of the everyday, inserting a bit of joy where they least expect it.

Rethinking how we live within our cities is key to the future of how we approach redevelopment and regeneration, especially in terms of climate change. Brent Cross Town is challenging the way that we build by introducing low-carbon construction, renewable power, circular economy principles and carbon offsetting. Therefore this was an important consideration when installing the signage and the environmental impact it had on the area. Hence each piece was made so that it could be attached to an existing piece of infrastructure.
