A New Retirement Village for Brent Cross Town

Inclusivity and a better quality of life are integral to plans for Brent Cross Town, so we’re thrilled to announce that, in collaboration with Audley Group and Senior Living Investment Partners (SLIP), we’ll start work on a retirement village at the end of 2024.

The development will be the second of Audley’s Mayfield Villages and the first in London. Mayfield Villages are designed to bring contemporary retirement living to a much wider audience and to give more people choice over how and where they live as they get older.

The new Mayfield Village will be true to Brent Cross Town’s vision of creating a diverse and inclusive community rooted in health and wellbeing, with access to fitness facilities and nature for everyone.

Centred around communal spaces and central facilities, the village will include a gym, swimming pool, spa, relaxation area, village hall, cafe and bistro, all set within Brent Cross Town’s network of green outside spaces.

There are more people over 65 in England and Wales than ever before – nearly one in five of us. The number of over 65s is expected to reach 17.2 million by 2040. A leading review published in late 2022 revealed that 50,000 new homes for older people must be built each year to help people stay well for longer and reduce pressure on the NHS and care services.

We’re committed to building a healthy, vibrant, multi-generational community, with excellent, modern facilities for people at all stages of life. The retirement village will be a vital part of the neighbourhood. Alongside this, work has already started on homes for sale and rent, affordable homes and student accommodation. Brent Cross West Station, which will offer 12-minute journey times to King’s Cross, is due to open later this year. Sheffield Hallam University is also building its first campus outside Yorkshire in Brent Cross Town.
