Halloween Dog Parade

Who says Halloween is only for humans?

Calling all pet parents: bring along your devilish Dachshunds, spooky Saint Bernards, and ghostly Golden Retrievers for the Brent Cross Town Dog Parade!

Dress up your four-legged friend in their very best trick-or-treating costume and head for a walkies along the parade route, before competing for a range of top dog awards (including best Halloween look!). It’s all in support of Pets As Therapy (PAT) a charity that uses therapy animals to provide comfort, companionship and wellbeing support to people in schools, hospitals, care homes and local communities.

No dog? No problem! Spectators are welcome to come along and get in the Halloween spirit, too.

Please note: all furry contestants need to register in advance to take part.

When: Saturday 31 October, 11am – 1pm
Where: Claremont Park, Brent Cross Town

What’s the plan for the day?

11am: Check in for the parade and explore the Halloween Dog Village. Look out for spooktacular photo opps (including free photography at Arthur’s!), dog-friendly treats, music, face painting and bubble workshops.

11.45am: Enjoy a welcome from the host, meet the judges, and gather for a paw-some group photo.

12pm: The Halloween Dog Parade begins! Dogs and owners follow the parade host and marshal through Claremont Park, cheered by spectators, with music and Halloween entertainment along the way.

12.30pm: Judging time! Showcase your furry friend’s costume on stage as the panel decides on the winners, including: Best Dressed Dog; Spookiest Pup; Best Dog and Owner Duo; Best Homemade Costume; Cutest Puppy; People’s Choice Award; and Social Media Favourite.

1.15pm: Prize-giving and an opportunity to celebrate the winners as they earn ultimate bragging (and wagging!) rights.

A few important things to bear in mind before the day:

  • Dogs must be registered in advance to take part in the parade.
  • For the safety and comfort of all attendees, all dogs – including parade participants and dogs accompanying visitors and spectators – must be kept on a lead at all times within Claremont Park.
  • Spectators don’t need to register and can simply turn up on the day.
  • Costumes are encouraged for both dogs and humans.
  • Free dog treats will be available from Brent Cross Town retailers throughout the event, while stocks last.
  • Food and drink will be available to purchase from Always Gladice, Arthur’s, Karma and Gussy’s.
  • All proceeds from the event will be donated to Pets As Therapy (PAT). Visit their stand on the day to learn more about the charity and how you can get involved as a volunteer.
