Exploratory Park Christmas Tree
Local Artist and Sculptor Alistair Lambert was commissioned to decorate the landmark red spire which was originally the spire on top of the Chapel of Little St. Peters that once stood on the Exploratory Park site.
“It’s a wonderful challenge to decorate the red spire which has been a local landmark on that spot since the late fifties. This year I used scaffolding poles clamped into the structure to suspend lantern prisms made from triangles of perspex sheet (using some of the same material that was used last year). In the end it reminded me of a selection box of Christmas chocolates and I am particularly pleased with the star at the top (the most important part) and the glow of the lights at night. It’s great that this link to the past of the area is still a part of it’s bright future.” Alistair Lambert.
